Central Park

everyday at 12:30 you come to central park
you sit on the same bench
you eat the same lunch
i watch from a distance
i yearn to say hi
but you look distracted
you text someone the entire time
im too shy to approach you
my fear of rejection means ill forever just watch
just watch you eat lunch at central park
i wonder if you have ever noticed i get here the same time as you
that i sit on the bench next to yours in silence
i don't text anybody
or even talk on the phone
im constantly glancing in you direction
but you are never glancing in mines
so everyday
ill walk to central park at 12:30
and sit on the same bench
and eat the same lunch
and watch you do the same
maybe one day you'll notice me too
